For years, Madrona Specialty Food had been using the same packaging and end-cap display for their Dolcetini® Artisan Cookies. Although the product garnered rave reviews, retail sales were declining. A long-time TrojanLitho client, Madrona approached us for a solution that would gain instant credibility with store buyers, and attract greater customer attention and dollars.
TrojanLitho recommended retail-ready packaging for a sturdy, flexible and impactful display that would reduce labor costs for stores. Retailers could stack the boxes and remove the lid of the top box (no box knives required). As the cookies sold down, retailers could remove and recycle the boxes. TrojanLitho also proposed moving the display to the bakery department for better exposure and to enhance the product’s perceived value.
As part of the process, we tested the structural integrity of the shipper and created numerous packaging prototypes to fine-tune the glue placement. We also created mockups for the sales team to present to retailers. Results exceeded expectations with sales increasing by 30%.
